The high-speed rail hints at Turner’s ‘Rain, Steam and Speed’ that has a train coming out of mists of industrialisation as if the future is heading to the viewer. Here the railway heads to the highest point of the world to internally colonise Tibet with Han Chinese and to ostensibly herald the future. The nail house, a family unit of civilisation existentially stands in a dissolving limbo within a landscape of progress.Exhibitions
